The 1947 Harvester Trousers by Pike Brothers take their inspiration from classic British trousers of the 1940s – a higher rise, clean lines and a relatively slim cut. A silhouette from a time when trousers were still worn properly on the waist rather than the hips.

For the Chicago Sand version, Pike Brothers uses an unusually lightweight 55% linen and 45% wool fabric of just around 150 GSM. The linen gives it that dry, slightly textured summer feel, while the wool adds drape and keeps it from looking like a typical pair of linen trousers.

That combination is what makes the Harvester particularly interesting. It sits somewhere between traditional tailoring and workwear and can easily go either way. Wear it with a white shirt and leather shoes, or simply with a well-worn T-shirt, suspenders and a lightweight work jacket.

Chicago Sand is a warm, natural shade that works particularly well with navy, denim, brown, olive and unbleached natural colours.

A great summer trouser for anyone who appreciates classic heritage menswear but doesn't necessarily want to spend a 25-degree day in heavy twill.
